Microblading

  • The initial appointment for microblading is about 2.5 to 3 hours long. The secondary touchup appointment is an hour and 30 minutes long.

  • Shape is determined by a thorough mapping process that determines your custom brow measurements. Client input is always appreciated and encouraged throughout the mapping process! Feel free to have photos ready if you prefer your brows in a certain look or have an expectation of results.

  • Yes, numbing cream is included and applied 20 minutes before the procedure, instant numbing gel is used throughout the time of procedure as well. Most clients don’t feel much or feel very minimal if numbing cream is applied. Despite slight tenderness after the appointment, microblading is almost painless.

  • Any makeup on eyebrows or forehead will be wiped clean! Skin may be red, irritated and/or swollen after appointment due to the nature of procedure and numbing creams. This usually goes down within the next few hours.

  • Microblading is done by the use of a small hand tool consisting of several tiny needles to make hairlike incisions that are soaked in semi-permanent ink.

  • Microblading is most suitable for clients with dry to combo skin. Those with oily prone skin have a hard time holding the ink due to the technique of microblading.

  • Healing is about 7 to 12 days. Everyone heals differently, this is based on the most common client experience. It is normal to take longer/shorter time to heal!

The brows go through three stages during healing. The bold stage - your brows will be 2-3x darker than the healed result, this lasts 2-4 days. The peeling/flaking stage - the hairstrokes will start to scab up & flake off, that lasts about 3 to 4 days. The light stage - you will notice that the brows are much lighter during this time which also lasts 3 to 4 days. After the brows have gone through these stages, you will slowly start to see the pigment come back & darken just a bit. Overall, the brows will lose up to 60% of pigment during healing.

  • Preferably, NO! It is unnecessary to shave or even maintain the brows beforehand. The more hairs the better when it comes to microblading, it helps during the mapping process and blends the microblading strokes best.

  • Microblading can last up to a year plus with the proper aftercare and upkeep.

  • Most clients start to notice fading around six months-year after procedure. Microblading fades because of the use of semi-permanent ink. This particular ink is made with materials that help break down and fade the pigment overtime.

  • Yes! Microblading can be done to replicate the shape and hair pattern that men naturally have.

  • Absolutely. At Face Cowboy, women, men, transgender and/or non-binary, etc. are all welcome and can benefit from this amazing service.

  • Yes! Hair is not required for this service and design mapping will always be done before the procedure is started.

  • Microblading can cause scarring if the hair strokes are made too deep into the dermis or if the client has sensitive skin and is prone to keloids. Getting microblading done can cause trauma to the skin due to the blade usage, that’s why appointments are recommended to be 6 months to a year apart, so the skin has time to heal over and rejuvenate over time.

  • The secondary touchup is especially necessary because clients will not usually see desired results within one session. Yearly touch ups are always recommended, that is when the hairstrokes noticeably lighten for most.

  • How well prep & aftercare is followed, skin type, diet, hormones, lifestyle!

    *please see pre/postcare*

  • Microblading is safe for most people, here are the exceptions. Microblading is not recommended for those with any of the following: sensitive post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, transmittable blood conditions, heart disease, pacemaker, active skin cancer in the area, hemophilia, uncontrolled high blood pressure. Please discuss with your physician if you aren’t sure that this procedure is safe for you.

Lip Blush

  • Lip blushing takes up to 3 to 4 hours. Since the lip skin is softer and more delicate compared to the rest of the face, lip blushing requires more passes to get to the desired color or shade.

  • Due to the nature of the lip tissue, lip blushing is more sensitive than other procedures. However, strong numbing topicals are applied before and during the entirety of the service!

  • Lips will be heavily swollen, puffy and very bright in color immediately after lip blushing. After a day or two you will start to see the lips go down in size and color will lighten drastically over the course of healing.

  • Concealer is used to outline the natural shape of the lips, only outlining around lip skin and vermilion borders. Color is determined upon clients desired healed results, most clients bring in their favorite lipstick for this part! For clients with dark lips or hyperpigmentation, neutralization is always the first step in color determination. It is important to note that every color is mixed based on skin undertone and your artist will help determine this if you’re unsure.

  • Yes! Lip filler and lip blushing go hand-in-hand for beautiful healed results. However, lip filler and lip blushing appointments should always be no less than 4 weeks apart from each other!

  • It’s important to determine if you’d like to get lip filler or lip blush done first. Dissolving filler after lip blushing has been performed, can result in the tattoo not aligning with the natural shape of the lips, this is because lip injections alter the shape and size of the lips.

  • Yes, lip blush is possible even on deeply wrinkled lips.

  • Yes! Clients with darker pigmented lips and/or hyperpigmentation, require lip neutralization to brighten the lips and neutralize them if/before a new shade is added. This can take more than one session depending on the client. After naturalization is complete, the client can stick with that color, or choose a new pigment to tattoo over the lips!

  • Lip neutralization is the same process as lip blushing but it’s for clients with darker pigmented lips and/or hyperpigmentation. This is only performed in the dark areas in the lips as needed, therefore mapping is not included in these appointments. Once lips are neutralized, the lips will be mapped and shaped accordingly.

  • Lip skin holds onto tattooed color very well, results can last 2 to 3 years after secondary touch up.

  • Usually clients will notice long lasting results after the secondary touch up is completed. Lips will remain softer and lighter in color after healed, and they continue to get lighter as time goes on. Yearly touch ups are always recommended to keep the tattoo fresh.

  • Yes, but not all scars heal the same and can sometimes reject the tattoo. Lip blushing is NOT recommended for clients that scar or keloid easily in the lips/face.

  • Lip blushing is done with the use of a permanent makeup machine similar to a tattoo machine.

  • Makeup should not be worn on the lips until lips are fully healed and not leaking or peeling.

  • Lip blush is safe for most people, here are the exceptions. Lip blush is not recommended for those with any of the following: sensitive post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, transmittable blood conditions, heart disease, pacemaker, active skin cancer in the area, hemophilia, uncontrolled high blood pressure. Please discuss with your physician if you aren’t sure that this procedure is safe for you.

Freckles

  • Usually freckle tattoo appointments take no longer than an hour.

  • Numbing gel is used before procedure and between passes.

  • The freckles will appear more bold, swollen and/or red, this should go down within a few hours. The freckles may appear more bold for the next couple days during healing before they start to peel and scab off.

  • Mapping is always done before the procedure and approved by the client. Freckles are placed where they will accentuate the face the most, and of course, look most natural.

  • Tattooed freckles can last anywhere between 1 to 3 years. Longevity depends on how well prep and aftercare is followed, skin type, skincare, diet, hormones, and lifestyle.

  • Faux freckles are tattooed on by a single needle hand tool or a permanent makeup machine. Flesh tone pigment is used to mimic the natural colors of real freckles.

  • Keep your face as dry as possible for the entirety or the healing period (7-12 days). Use shower visors as provided.

  • Absolutely not! Applying any makeup to the tattooed areas during healing can cause infection and delayed healing. You must wait until freckles are no longer scabbed or peeling to apply makeup to the tattooed area.

  • No, freckle tattoos are considered an open wound during the healing phase and you need to let them breathe. Applying any skincare and/or sunscreen during healing can cause infection and delayed healing. You must wait until freckles are no longer scabbed or peeling to apply any skincare or sunscreen products.

  • 7-12 days. They will appear more bold for the first couple days, then they will start to scab up until they flake off and lighten up.
